Steel block snooker table cushions on Ebay

I expect some of you wonder when watching professional snooker matches  how the players manage to get such high breaks and accurate ball response.  Part of the answer is due to the table which for championship and professional matches are fitted with steel block cushions.

This was an idea pioneered and patented by Burroughes and Watts and it involves the rubber cushions being attached to a 10mm steel plate that is then fixed to the side of the slate bed. This then makes the cushions totaly firm and rigid so the ball response is the same off every cushion and is far superior to the response one gets from normal wooden cushions which can very depending on the density of the timber.These cushions can be fitted to any full size table as they have elongated holes which allow for different fixing points.
